Week 47 ~ In My Pocket

Guest Designer
I am happy to introduce you all to this week's Guest Designer - Monica Skadsem

Here's a little about Monica in her own words: Hi, I'm Monica from Norway! I have three fantastic children and I am married to the man of my dream. I have been crafting my whole life, and about 12 years ago I discovered stamping and cardmaking - and I was lost!! Some years later a colleague invited me to a scrapbook class, and guess what.... I was lost again! Oh my.... these papercrafting hobbies have really changed my life. It's lifestyle, passion and therapy in one, and I could not imagine life without papercrafting.
I was so happy and honoured when Kirsty asked me to be a guest designer - and i just had to say yes! I am not share that I have a certain style, but I do love the French Country Style, and i guess I am quite influenced by that. I love to use soft colors, flowers, paint and sewing on my projects - and I always have to distress the edges both with distresser and ink to get the "right look". I love it when it looks a bit crackled and old. I am lucky to be a designer for a Norwegian producer Papidesign - and I just love their papers and stamps! I am also a designer for  Norwegian company called Scrapbookengros - which is a papercraft wholesaler here in Norway.
This weeks challenge was so inspiring and I immediately knew that I had to make a mini album from scratch with brown paper bags. I have used my sewing machine a lot here - and I have spent a lot of time waiting for paint to dry *lol*. The theme of the mini album is friendship, gratitute and encouragement, and I have made pockets to put pictures and "secret tags", I have used a lot of Melissa Frances rub-ons that I think was perfect for both the theme and the style.
I hope you will enjoy this week's challenge, and that you will be as inspired as I was! Can't wait to see your creations! So Kirsty, thank you again for asking me to be this week's guest designer, it has been so much fun!!

Here's a little about American Crafts - Steve and Alma Mitchell founded American Crafts in 1994 with their sons. Together, they quickly built the company into a business catering to the general crafting market. Initially specializing in pen manufacturing, American Crafts produced a variety of gel and ink pens and markers - customer favorites that are still part of the company's lineup today.
In the late 1990s, the company transitioned to focus on creating innovative, well-designed products fro the emerging scrapbooking industry. Since then, American Crafts has steadily expanded its product offering, becoming a trendsetter along the way. In 2009, American Crafts acquired the Pebbles brand to offer an even wider variety of products to scrapboookers.
American Crafts is known for fresh, clean product design and friendly, personalized customer service. Products feature bright, vibrant colors and a contemporary feel, inspiring crafters to record their memories in a fun, sophisticated, and stylish way.
